Electrical Engineering Designer III

Make an Impact

As an Electrical Engineering Designer III, you'll play a key role in designing innovative electrical systems for a diverse range of projects while collaborating with architects, engineers, and clients to deliver high-quality solutions. You'll take ownership of project coordination, mentor emerging team members, and help ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within scope, and in alignment with Progressive Companies' Performance Based Design approach. Your technical expertise and leadership will directly influence project success and client satisfaction.

Deliver Results

Develop electrical system designs, construction documents, technical specifications, and power system models using Revit, AutoCAD, and other industry software.
Coordinate project activities with internal disciplines, external consultants, clients, and governing agencies to support seamless project delivery.
Lead construction administration activities, including responding to RFIs, reviewing shop drawings, and providing design clarifications with minimal supervision.
Review calculations, specifications, and project documentation to ensure quality, code compliance, and alignment with company standards.
Perform advanced electrical analyses, including load flow, harmonic studies, and protective device coordination for a variety of building types.
Mentor junior designers and engineers by providing technical guidance, training, and support while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
Participate in field investigations, site observations, and Lessons Learned sessions to continuously improve project outcomes and team performance.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
Minimum of 10 years of post-graduation professional engineering experience.
Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, and standard engineering software.
Strong understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC), applicable industry standards, and electrical building systems.
Demonstrated experience coordinating multidisciplinary projects and supporting construction administration.
Strong communication, collaboration, and project planning skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience leading medium-to-high complexity building electrical systems.
Advanced experience performing power system analysis and electrical modeling.
Experience mentoring junior engineers and designers.
Familiarity with Performance Based Design principles and integrated project delivery.
