Transportation Planning Area Practice Leader

As a Transportation Planning Area Practice Leader you will be a member of the DKS leadership team and will work closely with both local and cross-office teams to win and deliver work in our Transportation Planning practice, with a portfolio including long-range corridor and area studies, multi-modal plans, fee studies, VMT assessments, performance measurement, interchange and ICE evaluations, managed lanes studies, safety programs, etc.

What will you be doing?

Develop new client relationships for DKS and build on current client relationships, including partnerships with other consulting firms
Win and manage a variety of transportation planning projects that you are passionate about, including all elements of the project life-cycle (pre-positioning, pursuit, negotiations, project planning, technical delivery, financial management, etc.)
Provide leadership team with insight on market trends and growth opportunities
Assure client satisfaction through implementation of our Client Experience (CX) and QC/QA initiatives
Work with, train, and mentor less experienced staff in technical expertise, client management, and project management
Create an engaging and collaborative work environment that promotes communication, transparency, and partnerships
Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through continuous development

What are we looking for?

Bachelor’s Degree (or greater) in Civil Engineering, Transportation, or similar field
10+ years of experience in the transportation engineering consulting industry
Ability to immediately support business development by securing pursuits
Project management experience on a variety of transportation engineering projects
AICP license and/or California PE (Traffic) desired
Working knowledge of industry practices and regulations
Strong knowledge of (and built relationships with) the local client base desired
Strong written and verbal communication skills

Pay Range:

Project Manager: $167,800 - $192,300 per year
