An authorized distributor for Vermeer equipment in Kansas, Oklahoma, and Western Missouri with five branch locations across the region. A 100% employee-owned company, we provide dedicated sales, rentals, parts, and service support for customers in the tree care, landscaping, wood waste, organic recycling, underground construction, and mining industries.
POSITION FUNCTION:
The Parts Specialist is responsible for assisting customers and internal departments with their parts needs by properly identifying needed items. The Parts Specialist is the first point of contact for incoming phone and walk-in parts requests and is responsible for maintaining and building customer relationships. They will merchandise, invoice, solicit additional sales and perform outstanding customer service.
ESSENTIAL PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain a positive and professional working relationship with peers, management, and support resources with a constant commitment to teamwork and exemplary customer service
- Assist customers by using electronic catalogs or other resources to properly identify items as needed, verify correct parts for machine, price, and availability
- Enter quotes and/or orders into business system after verifying customer needs and expectations
- Order and/or pick parts for customers, generate invoices, and collect payments as needed
- Collect cash, card, or payments and/or billing open accounts
- Maintain customer accounts in order to ensure accuracy
- Receive stock orders and freight, validate orders are correct and appropriate freight/handling charges are applied
- Ensure all parts are stocked in the appropriate location and are ready for purchase
- Make necessary entries in business system to add new parts with the appropriate sale price
- Label and store parts in the appropriate locations in the stockroom and warehouse
- Label and assign new part locations as needed
- Receive parts from shipping source and ensure customers receive them in a timely manner by calling the customer, delivering to shop, etc.
- Pull, package and ship parts per customer expectations
- Ensure cash drawer is always correct and paperwork is filed in the correct locations
- Assist customers with warranty concerns, contact vendors with issues and file Quality Notification Forms as needed
- Take a proactive approach to inventory control by assisting and/or reporting discrepancies
- Assist in maintaining the retail sales floor and displays to meet or exceed the dealerships standards by setting up merchandise for display and ensuring customer satisfaction by keeping Parts Department clean and professional
- Travel to pick up parts from vendor for customers as needed and/or to maintain parts cabinets established at customer locations
- Assist with cycle and annual inventory counts
- Proactively stay current on industry and product information (including Vermeer and other vendors), continuing your education by factory schools, etc.
- Follow all safety rules and regulations while performing work assignments and adhere to policies and procedures as specified in company manuals and as directed in the employee handbook

Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Must be committed to and take a pro-active approach to our Company Mission, Vision and Values
- Strong PC proficiency with MS Windows and MS Office Suite, CDK a plus
- Ability to drive and operate forklift
- Sufficient understanding of mechanical and technical terms
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail
- Ability to identify areas and processes that can be improved
- High degree of customer service to both internal and external customers
- Demonstrated safe work habits
- Strong ability to adapt to the people and environment around them - customers, suppliers, co-workers, and manufacturer's employees

- Ability to work in a team and independently
- Must be able to lift/push/pull up to at least 50 lbs, stand, walk, use hands and fingers, handle, feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk and hear 100% of the time
- Must be able to work overtime and/or weekends as needed
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate degree in Business Administration, Applied Science, Diesel Mechanics, Liberal Arts or related field and 4 years of experience in the same or similar industry/position; or equivalent combination of education and experience required
- Ability to obtain medical card if necessary
- Background check, pre-employment drug testing and clean driving record required
