Brown and Caldwell is currently seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead our Washington Infrastructure team. The successful candidate will represent Brown and Caldwell as a client facing project leader and will also serve as the internal team leader for Infrastructure staff in Washington. The Infrastructure team delivers a portfolio of collection system and conveyance planning studies and designs for municipal clients throughout Puget Sound, collaborating with our Water Resources team as well as our Wastewater practice. This dynamic role supports BC’s clients to navigate complex infrastructure challenges with innovative collection system solutions while ensuring quality for our clients and financial performance for BC. Our ideal candidate will have the technical skills for effective project management and the interpersonal skills to demonstrate leadership, communication mastery, organizational aptitude, problem-solving and the ability to motivate and manage diverse project teams.
Duties include but are not limited to the following:
- Delivery of Project and Business Performance Metrics – Support achievement of project goals related to scope, schedule, budget and quality. Monitor profitability through routine earned value analysis and compliance, business revenue forecasting and timely invoicing.
- Client Service and Sales/Marketing Support and Engagement – Ability to build successful relationships with Clients, while collaborating with client service managers and project teams to assess client satisfaction and identify opportunities to pursue. Monitor and share client critical success factors to ensure project success and client satisfaction.
- NW Infrastructure Team leadership:

- Deliver team strategy: Work with the NW Growth Lead, Area Practice Leaders, and the Municipal Operations Manager to shape and deliver the team’s business development and growth strategy. Set goals that align with the rest of BC’s business operations and achieve those goals by leveraging the whole team and BC’s national resources.
- Resource Management: Track team workloads and manage project assignments aligned to each staff’s personal growth goals. Collaborate with the Municipal Operations Manager to maintain utilization goals for the team.
- Team Culture: Foster a culture of learning and accountability. Motivate the team by investing in each member’s skills growth, empowering members through both shared and delegated responsibilities, cultivating a culture of trust, and embracing diverse thought and experience.

- Set direction – Support defining objectives, decision-making processes, schedules, budgets and success factors. Assist team in providing clarity on what the objectives are for an assignment, how decisions will be made, schedules and budgets, and what critical success factors the client trying to achieve are important components to setting team direction.
- Communicate – Help establish effective communication methods for team standups, technical/design decisions, and client interactions. Share how communications will be delivered, this includes team standups, technical/design decisions, client changes, etc.

Desired Skills and Experience:
- BS degree in Civil, Environmental, or related Engineering or Science field.
- 8+ years of experience in Project Management with progressively increasing responsibility.
- Experience with managing project scopes in the range of $100,000+.
- Competency in development and monitoring of moderate project schedules.
- Competency in development and monitoring of moderate project budgets.
- Competency in Risk Management.
- PE or equivalent licensing or ability to obtain through reciprocity within 6 months is required.
- Ability to demonstrate strong project management and leadership skills through previous experience.
- Must be proficient in using standard computer programs (MS Word, MS Teams, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, Outlook) required.
- Must be proficient in schedule development and management utilizing MS Project Scheduling tools and software.
- MS degree in Civil, Environmental, or related Engineering or Science field; and/or MBA preferred.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI) preferred.
- Previous supervisory or mentoring experience a plus.
Salary Range: The anticipated starting pay range for this position is based on the employee’s primary work location and may be more or less depending upon skills, experience, and education. These ranges may be modified in the future.
Location B: $144,000 - $197,000
Location C: $157,000 - $215,000
