ASSISTANT GENERAL MANAGER - CHAMPS CHICKEN

As the Assistant General Manager at Champs Chicken, you will play a key role in supporting the General Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the restaurant. You will help lead the team to deliver exceptional service and high-quality food, while ensuring operational efficiency and a positive customer experience. Your role is crucial in maintaining Champs Chicken’s standards of excellence and driving the restaurant's success.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Assist the General Manager with daily operations of the Champs Chicken location, including supervising team members and handling basic scheduling and training.
- Step in for the General Manager as needed to ensure smooth restaurant operations.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and development of team members, providing feedback and identifying improvement areas under the guidance of the General Manager.
- Ensure team adherence to safety, sanitation, and operational policies.
- Work alongside team members to maintain a clean and welcoming environment.
- Operate, update, and maintain a point-of-sale system.
- Optimize technology to manage labor and time reporting, manage inventory, track and reduce waste.
- Ensure customer satisfaction by addressing minor complaints and supporting team members in delivering excellent service.
- Assist in monitoring inventory, managing supplies, and ordering as needed.
- Support the General Manager in managing labor and inventory costs within budgetary guidelines.
- Help maintain food quality, portion control, and presentation in alignment with Champs Chicken’s high standards.
- Monitor food safety practices, including proper handling, storage, and rotation of products.
- Support local marketing efforts and promotional activities to boost brand awareness and sales in the community. Help build relationships with customers and the local area to enhance Champs Chicken’s presence.
- Ensure adherence to health, safety, and sanitation standards by coaching team members on food safety and cleanliness procedures.
- Help maintain store cleanliness and manage safe opening/closing procedures.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.

- Demonstrate trained food safety knowledge
- Acquire ServSafe certification and county food handler’s cards if applicable.
- Able to work full-time hours and a flexible schedule that includes days, nights, weekends and holidays.
- Possess basic Microsoft Word, Excel and Teams knowledge.
- Food service management experience is preferred.
- Supervisory experience is preferred.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Work is generally performed in a restaurant environment.
- Frequently work with high temperatures associated with the cooking equipment.
- Regular exposure to cold temperatures while working in food coolers and freezers.
- Must be available to work a flexible schedule including a variety of shifts, days, evenings, nights, and weekends including overtime, as needed.

- Lift/carry up to 10 pounds constantly, 20 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally.
- Continuously stand and/or walk on hard floors to prepare and cook food, get stock items, and transport items to/from the kitchen, stock room, food prep area and front lines for extended periods.
- Frequently push or pull trash cans, brooms, mops, and mop buckets.
- Occasionally to frequently climb a foot stool or ladder to reach items located on shelves, in coolers, freezers, stockrooms, etc.
- Frequently stoop or squat to reach items on low shelves or on the floor.
- Continuously reach overhead, forward, and underneath shelving, counters, tables, refrigeration units, racks, drink dispensers, and food service equipment.
- Continuously communicate with and listen to customers, management and other team members to ensure optimal performance.
