Job Purpose Summary
The Sales Director is responsible for leading and managing the Sales division within Ciranda, developing and leading execution of sales strategies to drive growth and achieve organizational targets. The Sales Director will lead the sales team, participate in the management of strategic client relationships, sit on the organization’s leadership team and collaborate cross-functionally to ensure success.
Responsibilities
- Formulate and oversee execution of comprehensive sales strategies and plans to meet company targets.
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing sales team to achieve individual and collective sales goals.
- Implement appropriate sales training to develop team skills and effectiveness
- Ensure effective sales processes from lead generation to closing, while ensuring systems and processes are effectively utilized.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers and partners.
- Oversee major customer negotiations and ensure exceptional customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate with the Go-To-Market team to conduct market research to identify trends, opportunities and competitive positioning.
- Provide valuable input to product development based on market demands and customer feedback.
- Collaborate with the Marketing, Product, and Operations teams to develop and implement effective sales and marketing campaigns, promotions, new product launches and sales initiatives.
- Collaborate with sales, operations and finance teams to develop accurate sales forecasts and plans, implement pricing and margin strategies, monitoring performance against forecasts and driving adjustments as needed.
- Analyze sales metrics and market performance, prepare and present sales reports to senior leadership.
- Manage the sales budget and optimize resource allocation to optimize return on investment.
Required Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Seven or more years of experience in sales roles with at least 5 years proven experience in sales leadership roles.
- Demonstrated understanding of the food industry, including knowledge of consumer trends, new product development, R&D cycles, supply chain, manufacturing, distribution, and retail sales.
- Organic industry experience preferred.
- Demonstrated success in achieving sales targets, driving revenue growth, and building strong customer relationships.
- Solid understanding of sales principles, methodologies, and best practices.
- Experience in developing and implementing sales strategies, action plans, and sales forecasting.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in using CRM systems and sales tools to manage customer interactions, analyze sales pipeline health, track sales performance, and generate reports.
