Job Summary:
The Property Accountant will oversee the financial operations for a portfolio of properties, ensuring accurate and timely reporting, budgeting, and analysis. Key Responsibilities:

Financial Management: Prepare and maintain property-level financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow projections.
Accounts Payable/Receivable: Manage property-level payables, receivables, and tenant billings, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately.
Month-End Close: Perform monthly and year-end close processes for assigned properties, including journal entries and reconciliations.
CAM Reconciliations: Reconcile Common Area Maintenance monthly and bill tenants accordingly.
Budgeting & Forecasting: Collaborate with property managers to prepare annual budgets and provide regular variance analysis.
Lease Administration Support: Review and reconcile tenant leases, ensuring compliance with lease terms and billing accuracy.
Compliance & Reporting: Ensure compliance with GAAP and any regulatory requirements, preparing reports for internal and external stakeholders as needed.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with property managers, corporate accountants, and leadership to support operational and financial goals.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
3+ years of experience in property or real estate accounting.
Proficiency in Yardi and Microsoft Excel.
Strong understanding of real estate financial concepts, including CAM reconciliations and lease accounting.
Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with diverse teams.
A proactive, adaptable mindset with a commitment to meeting deadlines.
