To accomplish this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily.
· Adhere to safety, ergonomics and environmental requirements defined by Amsted Rail; outlined by the Amsted Rail Health & Safety program.
· Read blueprints, sketches, or computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) files.
· Display a working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
· Set up, operate, and disassemble manual, automatic, and computer numerically controlled (CNC) machine tools.
· Align, secure, and adjust cutting tools and workpieces.
· Build fixtures for machining parts.
· Monitor the feed and speed of machines.
· Turn, mill, drill, shape, and grind machine parts to specifications and maintain tolerances.
· Use gages and measuring instruments to meet tolerance requirements.
· Measure, examine, and test completed products for defects.
· Smooth the surfaces of parts or products to specifications.
· Present finished workpieces to customers and make modifications, if needed.
· Perform other duties, as assigned by Line Lead or Supervisors.
