Role of the Shop Helper

Under general supervision, performs maintenance and repair duties as directed. Must be available to work any assigned shift.

Essential Responsibilities

Performs assigned preventative maintenance and lubrication for vehicles and equipment.
Services and performs safety and maintenance inspections on refuse trucks and equipment.
Cleans and repairs garbage and recycle containers.
Writes repair orders from driver's Vehicle Condition Reports (VCRs).
Picks up parts from vendors as needed.
Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with Company policy and OSHA safety procedures.
Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED preferred.
Six months of related shop experience and basic understanding of heavy equipment terminology.
Valid driver’s license required.
