Job Summary
As a Mechanical in our Portland office, you will work closely with a multi-disciplinary group of engineers, designers, and drafters providing technical services to industrial, life science, chemical and renewable energy clients. This is an exciting opportunity to get involved in projects involving life sciences, pulp and paper, semiconductor, and other process industries.

The Responsibilities
- Define, organize, execute, and coordinate engineering assignments
- Plan and organize the work of designers and administrative staff supporting those assignments
- Prepare design calculations and documentation that support the project design
- Interface with key client and project staff in formal, informal and project team meetings
- Develop construction bid packages and specifications
- Review shop drawings
- Review construction RFIs and develop responses
- Provide clients with assistance during installation, commissioning and start-up of equipment and related systems
- Assist in preparation and presentation of proposals, including scope of services and fee estimate
Requirements/Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical with 4+ years of relevant experience.
- Licensed/registered as a Professional Engineer required
- Experience in a consulting engineering environment and ability to apply engineering techniques commonly used in industrial capital projects required
- Knowledge and experience with facility/building mechanical systems, including HVAC and plumbing, required
- Must be capable of exercising independent judgment in evaluating, selecting, and applying appropriate design techniques, procedures, and criteria to make minor design adaptations and modifications
- Ability to identify, interpret and apply relevant codes and standards to engineering designs
- Understand and work toward budgets and deadlines at a discipline level
- Industrial, energy, life science, or semiconductor experience is preferred
- Ability and willingness to travel to an off-site location and/or accept client site assignments when required
- Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills
- Proficient with MS Office suite
- Experience with AutoCAD, CADWorx, or Revit, a plus
- Knowledge of Caesar (preferred) or Autopipe pipe stress software, desired
- Knowledge of PIPE-FLO preferred
- Willing to work both independently and in a team environment, both in person and virtually
- Able to effectively prioritize multiple tasks and make independent decisions that promote/advance the company goals and objectives
