GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB:
The Sign-In Manager leads CSC Los Angeles' event sign-in operation and ensures employees are processed accurately, efficiently, and professionally at events throughout the branch. This position schedules and oversees the Sign-In Team, provides onsite leadership for major events, and safeguards timekeeping information that supports payroll, client billing, staffing decisions, event flow, and client satisfaction.
The successful candidate is a confident people leader who communicates data clearly, adapts quickly, and remains composed in a fast-paced event environment. The Sign-In Manager works cross-functionally with Event Operations, Scheduling, Payroll, Human Resources, Logistics, and other departments to maintain consistent, accurate, and efficient sign-in and sign-out practices.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES and OVERSIGHT: The duties below reflect the minimum requirements for this position.
Event Scheduling & Coverage
• Build, distribute, and maintain the Sign-In Team schedule for assigned events using anticipated staffing levels, venue needs, team availability, and operational priorities.
• Assign Sign-In Leads and team members, communicate call times and event requirements, confirm coverage, and respond promptly to schedule changes, cancellations, and staffing gaps.
• Provide direct onsite leadership for all major events and work additional events as needed based on complexity, staffing requirements, or leadership direction.
Sign-In & Sign-Out Operations
• Oversee accurate employee check-in and check-out in WISH, including jobs, shifts, classifications, posts, uniform information, field promotions, time corrections, missed meal or break documentation, and authorized mass sign-out.
• Ensure required identification and Guard Cards are verified and employees receive the correct uniforms, wristbands, meal tickets, handouts, and directions to briefing or deployment areas.
• Monitor queues, workstation readiness, system configuration, and team performance; adjust staffing and workflow to prevent delays and maintain an efficient employee experience.
• Deliver clear event huddles and updates covering staffing totals, venue procedures, wristband and uniform requirements, participating groups or branches, cutoff times, and escalation protocols.
Data Accuracy & Reporting
• Review, verify, and communicate staffing data, attendance trends, no-shows, corrections, and other operational information accurately and promptly.
• Ensure required staffing-level, attendance, no-show, and correction reports are accurate and distributed within established timelines.
• Protect the confidentiality and integrity of employee, payroll, and operational information.
Cross-Functional Coordination
• Coordinate with Event Managers, Scheduling, Payroll, Human Resources, Logistics, and other departments before, during, and after events to align procedures and resolve issues.
• Remain available during active operations to resolve or escalate unfamiliar issues involving timekeeping, employee eligibility, staffing, technology, or venue-specific requirements.
• Communicate operational updates, risks, and staffing concerns clearly to the appropriate stakeholders.
Team Leadership & Development
• Train, coach, and hold Sign-In Leads and team members accountable for accuracy, professionalism, punctuality, responsiveness, confidentiality, and adherence to policies and procedures.
• Establish clear expectations, provide timely feedback, and address performance or conduct concerns through the appropriate process.
• Maintain a professional, approachable, and decisive leadership presence in high-volume event environments.
Continuous Improvement & Operational Support
• Evaluate workflows, identify recurring errors or bottlenecks, and implement approved process improvements.
• Support testing, implementation, and adoption of updated sign-in technology, procedures, reports, and job aids.
• Assist Operations or Logistics, or assign available Sign-In personnel to support those teams, after primary sign-in duties are complete when operationally necessary.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Directly schedules, assigns, and supervises Sign-In Leads and Sign-In Team members for assigned events. Provides coaching, performance feedback, and operational direction and escalates employee-relations matters through the appropriate leadership channels.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Relevant supervisory experience in event operations, hospitality, security, workforce operations, payroll, or another high-volume environment preferred. Experience scheduling teams and working with workforce or timekeeping systems is strongly preferred.
LANGUAGE ABILITY:
Ability to read and interpret schedules, policies, operating instructions, event plans, reports, and procedure manuals. Ability to prepare clear reports and correspondence and communicate effectively with employees, managers, clients, and cross-functional partners.
MATH ABILITY:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to calculate staffing totals, rates, ratios, percentages, hours, and timekeeping adjustments and interpret basic operational reports.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems, prioritize competing needs, and respond to time-sensitive situations where limited standardization may exist. Ability to interpret written, oral, diagram, and schedule-based instructions and determine when to resolve, document, or escalate an issue.
COMPUTER & EQUIPMENT SKILLS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient with WISH or a comparable workforce and timekeeping system and have working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and related reporting tools.
SCHEDULE AND WORK REQUIREMENTS:
This is a part-time, event-based position with hours that vary according to the event calendar and operational needs. Onsite attendance is required at all major events, including regular evenings, weekends, holidays, and peak-season dates. The position may require extended shifts of approximately 8 to 16 hours, back-to-back events, and timely responsiveness to scheduling and operational changes.
TRAVEL:
Reliable transportation and travel to CSC venues throughout the Los Angeles region are required. Additional travel may be required depending on business needs.
