What You'll Do

Responsible for the registration and transfer of MERS. Responsible for tracking, receiving, and shipping of final documentation to the investors and servicers.

Daily management of the MERS website deed registrations.
Daily tracking of aged final documentation.
Tracking and storage of all final documentation.
Closed loan file storage.

Primary objectives

Coordination of recorded documents and final title policies through proper transfer of MERS. Ensure delivery of all original documents to investors as well as tracking and storage of all loan files according to industry guidelines and regulations.

Responsibilities

Daily monitoring of closed loans; registration on the MERS website (electronic transferring of lenders for Deeds of Trust). Daily monitoring of purchased loans to then transfer the MERS from DAS Acquisition to the final investor.
Daily tracking of aged Final Documentation (Final Title Policies and Recorded Deeds of Trust) from title companies. Contact and follow up with title companies if after 60 days from closing to obtain outstanding documents. Record keeping of all receipt and delivery of Final Documentation in Loan Origination Software. Physically preparation of Final Document delivery packages in bulk to investors upon loan purchase. Tracking of all delivery confirmation. Communication with investors regarding status of Final Documentation delivery and any corrections, as needed.
Store and track all Final Documentation that DAS is required to store in-house for 7 years (BB&T CorrAdvantage requirement). All original documents must be stored in vault and tracked in Loan Origination Software.
Gatekeeper” of closed loans as requested. Works with management to decide what documentation, if any, can be made available upon request on previously closed loans.

Requirements

Mortgage banking industry, familiar with Conventional, FHA, and VA mortgage products. Clear understanding of the current RESPA laws and guidelines.
Organization and language skills.
Ability to deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in writing, oral, diagram or schedule form.
Positive attitude, excellent attention to detail, strong work ethic.
High School Education
Minimum 1 year experience
Knowledge of LOS Database software, Word, Excel.
Office environment. Regular attendance is required.
Fast paced, high volume activities.
In order to succeed in this position high attention to detail and organization, amidst a fast changing environment is a must.
