SUMMARY: The Project Scheduler plays a pivotal role in ensuring the timely and efficient execution of electrical construction projects by creating, updating, and maintaining project schedules using lean scheduling principles and P6 software. They will collaborate closely with the project team, subcontractors, and stakeholders to ensure alignment with project scope, budget, and contract requirements.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Utilize P6 software to develop and maintain comprehensive project schedules that accurately reflect project timelines, milestones, and dependencies on electrical contract projects valued at $5 million and above.
- Ensure project schedules align closely with project scope, budgetary constraints, and contractual obligations, continuously monitoring and adjusting schedules to maintain consistency and compliance with project objectives.
- Work closely with the field team to create efficient man load schedules that match project needs, available resources, and productivity goals, ensuring labor is used effectively.
- Monitor project progress to identify and communicate any deviations, delays, or impacts to the project manager and team.
- Generate regular schedule reports and updates to the project team, highlighting critical milestones, upcoming activities, and notable schedule changes or risks.
- Proactively engage with the project team, subcontractors, and stakeholders to gather relevant schedule data and feedback and ensure seamless integration into project schedules.
- Thoroughly review the monthly project schedule updates received from the client, comparing them against the original baseline schedules.
- Prepare detailed time impact analysis (TIA) packages, documenting schedule changes' impact on project timelines and costs to support change orders and claims resolution.
- Assist the project manager with schedule risk analysis and mitigation strategies.
- Assist the Project Manager in developing recovery schedules to mitigate delays or setbacks during project execution.
- Collaborate with the project manager and field foreman to analyze ‘As Planned’ vs. ‘As Built’ schedules, identifying variances and trends to optimize future project planning and execution processes.
- Ensure compliance with scheduling standards, guidelines, and industry best practices, conducting regular quality assurance reviews of project schedules to verify accuracy, completeness, and adherence to contractual requirements.
- Monitor project issues closely, actively engaging with project teams to address any schedule-related challenges and ensure timely resolution, maintaining alignment with overall project objectives and schedules.
Experience, Education
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction project scheduling, with a preference for experience in large-scale and complex projects.
- Proficient in P6 software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Knowledge of lean scheduling principles and best practices, with the ability to implement efficient scheduling techniques to optimize project timelines and resources.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, effectively identifying and resolving schedule-related challenges with project teams and stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with the project team and stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented and accurate, ensuring precision in schedule development, maintenance, and analysis.
- Capable of meeting deadlines and managing tasks efficiently, demonstrating strong organizational and time management skills.
