General Foreman

Epsilon Systems Solutions, Inc. is currently seeking a General Foreman in Honolulu, HI.

Summary: Plans, assigns, schedules, and supervises the work of trade personnel on various shipboard system repair and installation projects. Acts as a liaison between customer and company.

Duties And Responsibilities

Provides direction, guidance, and oversee work assignments/ performance to assigned personnel.
Determines schedules, sequences, and assignments for work activities, based on work priority, quantity of equipment and skill of personnel.
Investigates accidents and injuries, and prepares reports of findings.
Disciplines and counsels employees about work-related issues and assist employees to correct job-skill deficiencies.
Compiles operational and personnel records, such as time and production records, inventory data, repair and maintenance statistics, and test results.
Prepares routine work and time reports and maintains standard records.
Develops, implements, and evaluates maintenance policies and procedures.
Examines objects, systems, or facilities, and analyzes information to determine needed installations, services, or repairs. Prepare CFR/IDR required reports.
Prepares cost estimates of labor and material; orders supplies, material, and equipment.
Monitors tool and part inventories and the condition and maintenance of shops to ensure adequate working conditions.
Conducts or arranges for worker training in safety, repair, and maintenance techniques, operational procedures, or equipment use.
Recruits and trains subordinate personnel; establishes safety and work performance standards.
Works closely with the Production Manager, Project Manager to complete work items within budget requirements, within the period of performance and while keeping safety and production milestones a priority.
Assists program and project teams with prospective work estimates and hours needed to complete the job including material procurement, quotes and duration of project.

Required Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of 5 years related work experience and at least 3 years in a Foreman/supervisory role.
Ability to read and execute drawings, plans and specs for repairs.
Proficiency in understanding and execution of Navsea Standard Items (009-57 is imperative).
Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English.
Mechanical experience required in various disciplines including but not limited to: shafting, bearing inspections, bearing removal / installation, alignments, taking measurements using calibrated equipment ( ie inside / outside mics, dial indicators, depth gages) and rigging.
Must be able to use screwdrivers, wrenches, pipe cutters, and other basic hand tools when installing systems.
Leadership and facilitator skills in working as a team leader.
Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
Effective problem solving, oral and written communication skills.
Sound interpersonal skills needed to interface, coordinate with company personnel, customers, and outside contacts.
Able to obtain and maintain access to military and government installations and private shipyards.

ADA Notations

Frequent standing, sitting, crawling, kneeling, stooping, crouching, walking, handling, feeling with hands, reaching with arms.
Regular communication (hearing/speaking).
Occasional lifting up to 50+ pounds.
Noise conditions range from very quiet to very noisy.
Must be able to physically access ships, small craft, and submarines.
May be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to: hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs/muffs, masks/respirators, safety vests, gloves and steel-toe boots.
Able to move in narrow and restricted passageways, up/down steep and narrow ladders or stairways, and up and down antenna masts/yardarms (onboard ships).
Shop environment, pier side and shipboard.
Travels to work sites.
