Radiance Technologies is the prime developer in support of the SAFE-SiM program. SAFE-SiM is a next-generation MS&A application that will provide insight into complex battlefield questions to inform senior leaders in the defense and intelligence communities.

SAFE-SiM is being developed with a web-based user interface that accesses containerized microservices orchestrated in a Kubernetes cluster. Our services leverage a ‘right tool for the job’ mentality that covers programming languages ranging from C# to Go to Python, modern libraries, and frameworks to provide collaborative and powerful features to our users.

Radiance Technologies is currently looking for skilled Software Architects, Systems Architects, Software Systems Architects, Software Engineers, and Systems Engineers to fill a new role as the Deputy Software System Architect in a new phase of development supporting the SAFE-SiM program. This role will require critical thinking and problem-solving to provide balanced designs and decisions to program leadership and development teams. In addition to working with the internal team, the successful applicant will have the opportunity to work with government points of contact, partnering contractors, and other stakeholders to help define and ensure that SAFE-SiM meets requirements. As a new role, the successful applicant will also have the opportunity to shape some of the day-to-day responsibilities that will be used to define success.

At the heart of this position, the Deputy Software System Architect must have a desire to utilize the breadth and depth of their technical skills to enable development teams and move our program forward towards excellence!

Required Skills:

10 + years of software or systems engineering
5 + years of demonstrated software systems design of increasing complexity
Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or Systems Engineering
Proven excellence in communication skills
Proven experience with service-based applications
Proven experience with software containerization
Proven experience in customer interaction to elicit, develop, and refine requirements
Proven ability to understand and produce Unified Modeling Language (UML) diagrams
Familiarity with DevSecOps framework and best practices
Ability to obtain Top Secret with access to Sensitive Compartmentalized Information

Desired Skills:

Master of Science or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or Systems Engineering
Experience designing systems with multi-level security requirements
2 + years of experience with integrated architecture tools (Cameo Enterprise Architect, Innoslate)
2 + years of experience with Kubernetes
1 + year of experience with formal methods or Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
1 + year of experience with cluster service mesh technologies (Linkerd, Istio)
1 + year of experience with messaging technologies such as Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, or DDS (OpenDDS, RTI)
Active TS//SCI clearance
