EnSafe is actively seeking a talented and experienced Chemical Engineer to join our team and work from one of our Tennessee offices (Knoxville, Nashville, Memphis) or Bowling Green, Kentucky. Remote work opportunities may be available for the right candidate.

What We Are Looking For:

A Chemical Engineer who is comfortable working directly with our clients to address their health & safety concerns. Practical experience with OSHA’s PSM standard is mandatory.

We work in many industries, including aerospace, chemical processing, manufacturing, and automotive. We will capitalize on your technical strengths; you can also expect to conduct work related to process safety management programs, mechanical integrity program development, occupational hygiene, risk assessment, machine safeguarding, control of hazardous energy, and other challenges.

Our engineering teams travel to multiple client sites primarily across the Southeastern area; however, your work assignments can take you across the country. You will grow into managing projects and developing business with current and new clients.

What You Will Be Doing:

Developing, implementing, and monitoring process safety management (PSM) programs in compliance with OSHA and EPA regulations.
Facilitating process hazard analysis (PHAs) using the hazard and operability studies (HAZOP) methodology. Experience with PHAPro is a plus.
Conducting PSM compliance audits. In-depth knowledge of the 14 elements of PSM is required.
Performing EPA risk management plan (RMP) audits.
Overseeing combustible dust hazard assessments.
Ensuring all process changes are controlled through the Management of Change (MOC) procedure.
Providing technical support to operations and engineering teams to ensure safety is integrated into all processes and designs.
Leading incident investigations to determine root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Training and educating employees on safety procedures and protocols, emphasizing the importance of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Managing safety audits and inspections, preparing detailed reports, and communicating findings to site leadership.

What you will need:

A bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering.
Five or more years of experience performing PSM-related work, preferably in a consulting environment.
Proficiency in using process safety software and tools, PHAPro software.
Strong knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations, industry standards, and best practices
Critical thinking skills are required.
Communication skills, written and verbal are critical to success.
Ability to travel overnight. 50% travel may be required.
