Lead the Evolution of Client Advisory Services at SC&H Group
SC&H Group is looking for a Principal – CFO Advisory to help transform how middle-market organizations optimize back-office functions, effectively manage risk and compliance, and navigate their digital journey. Through our Client Advisory Services (CAS) platform, we combine deep financial expertise with modern technology and scalable processes to help clients operate more efficiently, reduce infrastructure costs, and maximize enterprise value.
This role is designed for a senior leader who thrives at the intersection of finance, technology, and client service—and who is energized by building, scaling, and leading a next-generation advisory practice.
What You’ll Do
As a Principal, you will be accountable for executing the strategic direction and operational excellence of SC&H’s CAS platform, serving closely-held businesses and PE/VC-backed portfolio companies. You will lead client relationships, oversee high-performing teams, and help expand our CAS capabilities nationally.
Key responsibilities include:
- Grow and scale the CAS practice through business development, firm-wide collaboration, and active participation in industry and alliance networks.
- Serve as a trusted executive advisor to client CFOs and C‑suite leadership, and acting as the senior escalation point.
- Drive strategy execution and performance management on client engagements, including business planning, KPI establishment, and oversight of financial reporting, dashboard, and benchmarking automation.
- Lead client delivery excellence, ensuring consistent, high-quality execution across client engagement teams and portfolios.
- Improve scalability and efficiency by identifying and implementing process improvements and embedding automation, analytics, and AI-enabled technologies into CAS workflows.
- Provide technical and advisory leadership as a subject matter expert across accounting, advisory, and managed services solutions.
- Develop and lead high-performing teams by coaching, mentoring, and building technical and leadership capability across all levels.
- Enable integrated, firm-wide solutions by partnering across Advisory, Tax, Digital and Industry teams, and representing SC&H as a thought leader internally and externally.
Qualifications:
- 12+ years of progressive experience in accounting, advisory, or professional services; public accounting and experience leading CAS engagements strongly preferred.
- 10+ years of leadership experience, including managing, developing, and mentoring high-performing teams.
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance or other business related field is highly preferred. CPA/MBA strongly preferred.
- Deep understanding of U.S. GAAP and advanced accounting principles.
- Proven experience advising middle-market and growth-oriented businesses, including PE/VC-backed organizations.
- Strong technology orientation, with hands-on experience in Sage Intacct, NetSuite and/or QuickBooks Online experience a plus.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple client portfolios while maintaining accuracy, timeliness, and service excellence.
You’ll Thrive in This Role If You:
- Are passionate about building and scaling a modern Client Advisory Services platform within a fast-growing advisory and accounting firm.
- Excel at business development, executive-level relationship management, and consultative selling.
- Enjoy mentoring leaders and building a culture of accountability, learning, and continuous improvement.
- Want to shape how managed and advisory services deliver measurable, repeatable client value.
- Bring strong commercial acumen and are comfortable operating in a dynamic, growth-oriented environment.
- Communicate with confidence and credibility across clients, internal teams, and executive stakeholders.
- Are willing to travel occasionally to support clients, teams, and firm initiatives.
