Overview

Our Grand Rapids, MI office is looking for a Civil Engineer - Bridge Design Engineer with at least 2 years of related experience

As a Structural Bridge Design Engineer with Modjeski and Masters, you will work on a variety of challenging and rewarding bridge engineering projects for a myriad of transportation clients. As a member of our team, you'll be immediately responsible for performing engineering tasks under the careful supervision of established and respected professionals. You'll have opportunities to interact directly with clients, become a valued partner on a variety of high-impact projects, and apply fresh insights at every stage of a bridge's life cycle. Description

Position Available:

Entry level
Ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of related experience

Education and Licensure Requirements:

At minimum a BS in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET accredited college or university
- Home - ABET
Michigan PE license preferred but not required
MDOT experience is preferred but not required

General Responsibilities, Skills and Abilities:

Reviews and check standard structural design calculations.
Perform rating and design tasks.
Perform limited structural analysis and design of standard bridge components using general analysis software, client-specific software and in-house programs under direct guidance from Project Managers and senior-level engineers.
Develop preliminary details using CAD software, and provide information to CAD technicians for development of contract plans directly related to design work
Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned, including occasional field service assignments.
Knowledge of Microstations and Bentley OpenBridge Modeler.
Ability to work in a team environment on bridge related projects.
Basic knowledge of computer assisted drafting and design.
Ability to use standard engineering analysis software.
Good oral and written communications skills, with a fluency in English.
