Position Summary

The Senior Manager, Tax Technology will lead implementations of tax technology solutions and provide oversight to project resources, internally and externally. Opportunity to grow the organization through business development and client-focused solution delivery. Delivers innovative solutions to complex indirect tax issues.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Responsible for all phases of the software implementation methodology including planning, requirements gathering, solution design, tax configuration, testing, knowledge transfer, and cutover support for multiple projects at one time
Provide oversight and act as an escalation point for projects led by other members of staff
Provide subject matter expertise to our clients related to 3^rd party tax engines and ERP systems
Lead project sessions related to defining and documenting functional and technical requirements, business process, and data impacts inherent in implementing a transaction tax solution
Provide guidance to other resources in the organization such as consultants on projects/technical skills as well as general professional development
Provide leadership and guidance to coach, motivate, and lead team members to their optimum performance levels and career development; includes evaluating candidates
Provide executive management with production, revenue, and expense updates
Participate in periodic divisional and management functions
Assist with developing standard implementation approach templates, documentation, and scripts
Conduct business development activities to generate new and additional business opportunities

Education and Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Accounting, Engineering, or a related field
8-12 years’ applicable and related experience
Strong understanding of third-party Transaction Tax engines for tax processes and integrations
Technical knowledge and experience working designing and building solutions within SAP leveraging industry standards and SAP Best Practices
Must be able to show that you have experience building solutions using one or more of the following development tools within SAP: User Exits (screen and transaction e.g. Sales, Billing and Tax); Remote Function Calls; BAPI’s; BADI’s and enhancement framework
Intermediate level experience in ALV report development
Experience with Fiori, HTML 5, SAPUI5 and/or OpenUI5 is preferred but not mandatory
Must have experience in basic transport management and code version management
Must have strong DEBUG skills and must be fluent in the use of the different trace and logging functions within SAP
Ability to work independently and to deliver on detail as well as strategy across multiple projects
Proven ability to develop, mentor, and motivate client engagement teams
Strong strategic customer relationship management experience with proven issue resolution skills
PMP experience a plus
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Travel as required (approximately 15-25%)
