Detailed Description:
Currently we have an opportunity for an Electrical Field Services Inspector to join our team. The successful candidate will work on various projects for municipal, industrial, and private sector clients. Candidate would work directly with engineers from the Electrical Department, other consulting firms, and clients, for construction installations of facilities serving the water and wastewater industries. Construction will include low and medium voltage plant power distribution systems, motor control centers, VFD’s and Soft Starts, motors, PLC’s, instrumentation, and other related equipment for plant power and control systems. Project work will include working with design engineers and contractors for layout and selection of equipment based on specifications, field investigations, field engineering support during construction, inspections for compliance of National Electrical Code (NEC) and client specifications, equipment testing and commissioning, and develop project redline as-build conditions. The successful candidate will enjoy working in a collaborative multi-discipline environment to help provide inspections for new facilities, expansions, upgrades, and retrofits.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Perform constructability reviews of designs.
- Demonstrate skills with thorough knowledge of procedures, practices, installation, and testing methods, as well as of the National Electrical Code.
- Provide assistance with field investigations for arc flash data collection and ground grid testing.
- Research electrical equipment standards and specifications, design equipment layout and coordination with process mechanical, produce circuit and panel schedules, conduct engine generator sizing using vendor software.
- Perform electrical calculations including arc flash, short circuit, system coordination, voltage drop, equipment sizing, and research and design to the current National Electrical Code
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Knowledge of NEC requirements for industrial and commercial installations.
- Knowledge of NFPA 70E
- NEC knowledge shall include working clearances and access, and conduit and conductor sizing.
- Knowledge of practical means and methods for electrical and instrumentation installation, testing, and commissioning.
- Ability to review and respond to submittals and RFI’s.
- Ability to understand Electrical, Instrumentation, and P&ID drawings.
- Good technical skills with the ability to articulate ideas and concepts both visually and contextually
- Effective oral and written communication
- Demonstrated ability to efficiently use standard computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Bluebeam or PDF writer, and Outlook.
- Adapt to and use company tools and systems in place to monitor project budget and schedule.
- Take ownership of assigned project work to see work product through to the end of delivery.
Salary Range: The anticipated starting pay range for this position is based on the employee’s primary work location and may be more or less depending upon skills, experience, and education. These ranges may be modified in the future.
Location A: $35.20/hr - $34.50/hr
