This is a full-time position based in the Bay Area, CA, with 1-2 days working in-office from our headquarters in Berkeley, CA, and the rest may be worked from home.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Finance & Administrative Clerk works as a part of the Accounting team and is responsible for the Accounts Payable cycle including tracking, reviewing, reconciling, and paying the agency’s incoming billing. The Clerk is also responsible for general administrative support functions for the administrative team that includes both Accounting and Human Resources. The ideal candidate has a strong ability to think critically, communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, maintains a high level of standard and accuracy, and can work successfully both in independently establishing work priorities and as a critical member of a small administrative team.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Account Payable
- Process online payments and write checks as directed
- Process and enter invoices, as directed
- Process credit card statements
- Reconcile expense reports
- Track and maintain approvals from various stakeholders
- Annual 1099 & 1096 filing
Administrative
- Maintain hard copy and electronic files
- General office maintenance tasks (e.g., distributing mail, maintaining office supplies, etc.)
- Contribute to special projects including audits, compliance reporting, and other administrative tasks
- Provide department support and customer service to agency team members
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly operates a computer and other office equipment and remains in a stationary position, often sitting (or standing if at a standing desk) for prolonged periods; communication is via email, chat, phone, video, and/or in-person with others inside and outside the agency in order to exchange information; repetitive motions may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers in order to operate computer equipment, copy machines, and printers.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE:
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in Accounting, Administration, Project Management, or relevant field
- Working knowledge of Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Additional Preferred (but not required) Knowledge:
- Basic understanding of GAAP
- Previous experience with Accounting software

- A starting salary range of between $51,000 - $56,000, with performance evaluations and review of salary at least annually
